4GUYS is an upscale restaurant offering Asian cuisine, renowned for its wine selection and fine dining teppanyaki experience. Following the success of its first restaurant in Wuse, Abuja, which opened in 2020, the client requested the design of a new Lagos restaurant in Victoria Island, the affluent business and nightlife centre of Lagos city. Renders by project 3D visualiser.
Restaurant floor with Afro-Asian inspired lighting and furniture
The design was to seamlessly blend the influences of Asian food and culture and the Lagosian setting in a chic, contemporary scheme. The proposed design integrated Afro-Asian inspiration in natural textures and forms; stone, cane and brass details anchored the warm scheme and softscapes blurred ‘inside’ and ‘outside’ space to create an elevated biophilic atmosphere and aesthetic that doesn't sacrifice the location’s urban character.

The scheme was collaboratively developed by Iroko Interiors and Urban Kraft studio. As part of the design team at Iroko Interiors, I jointly developed the design concept, and produced the design presentation, technical drawings and furniture specifications for the project. I also liaised with construction personnel and maintained a dedicated site presence overseeing site works during the first months of the construction stage.

Layout
The layout also drew on biophilic design principles in the arrangement of distinct zones that seamlessly flow into one another, including the teppanyaki and fine dining zones,  the restaurant floor featuring fluid seating areas, and the interior double-volume glazed courtyard through which natural light and verdant views permeate the space.
